Strategic Communications Manager / Marketing / Media

Our client is a charitable housing association providing homes, care and support across Yorkshire.
They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Communications Manager to join their team based in Leeds. The main purpose of this role is to proactively lead strategic communications support and advice for the board and senior leadership team by identifying key messages and ensuring that these are transmitted as effectively as possible. Within this role your main responsibilities will include: producing an annual strategic communications strategy to support the Corporate Plan, identifying the most appropriate communication channels for all groups and developing and running effective communications campaigns where appropriate. You will also be expected to act as the focal point for internal briefing arrangements and maintain positive external media relations.
The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously, will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject and will also hold a communications qualification. A good understanding and experience of identifying and delivering key strategic messages within a complex environment is essential as is experience of developing and maintaining positive external media relationships. It is essential that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have successfully run effective communications campaigns and have experience of communicating with hard-to-reach groups. You must have good IT skills and it would be advantageous to have some experience of project management. A full UK driving licence is essential.
